Son Of Thomson Reuters Ceo James Smith Dies Suddenly

Thomson Reuters chief executive James Smith has been struck by family tragedy for the second time in four years, according to the independent website The Baron.

Smith's son Sawyer, 22, died on Monday evening in Norwalk, Connecticut, where he was a student at Norwalk Community College, reportedly said that the death was sudden and unexpected.

A report in The Ridgefield Press in Ridgefield, Connecticut "ed a spokeswoman at the state medical examiner's office saying, "Cause of death at this time is pending further studies." A toxicology report had been sought and it would probably be six to eight weeks before the results were returned.

Another son, Patrick, died of a bacterial infection during a family holiday in Spain in 2011. James Smith and his first wife Tammy have three other children - Sawyer's older brothers Adam and Eric and his twin brother Lucas.
